Malay Clothes & Food

Malay Clothes

Baju Kurung is more popular compared to other clothes. It is well-liked by people as it covers the whole body except for the palms and the face.

According to Islam teachings, the Baju Kurung is more suitable as it does not expose the body, except for the palms and face.

In our today's context, there are now different types of Baju Kurung.

Baju Kurung is normally printed with bright colours and attractive designs. This is to attract women who love bright colours and floral designs. Baju Kurung can be worn anytime.

The Baju Kebaya is also one of the clothes well- liked by the Malay community, especially during the 1960s.

The Baju Kebaya is usually tailored, according to the vital statistics of the person who is wearing it.

The Baju Kebaya is usually matched with "Kain Songket" or "Batik". In the olden days, it is usually tight and short but in today's context, these clothes do not need to follow the body shape of the person wearing it.

Choosing of colours is not very confusing as the Baju Kebaya usually has one colour and does not have too many floral designs.

Fragrant herbs, such as the kaffir lime leaf and lemon grass, shallots and garlic, ginger and galangal, are used. Dried spices include coriander, tamarind, turmeric, saffron, and cumin.

Feeling after Kampong Glam

We were tired but happy after the trip. We took some picture of the Kampong Glam.We also know some word like jin kubor which mean cemetry.

Feeling before the trip to Kampong Glam

We felt happy as it was our first time there. Before we sat off for the trip we were chatting and playing excitedly in the school canteen. When we were in the bus, we played finger games like "cha" and ''Pokemon''. The bus took about 15 to 20 before we reach there.
